La manifestation offre à de jeunes chercheurs qui souhaitent s’initier aux techniques d’édition de textes hiératiques l’occasion unique de travailler sur du matériel inédit issu de la collection des ostraca littéraires de l’IFAO. Ils seront encadrés cette année par Annie Gasse et Nathalie Sojic, et accompagnés par deux spécialistes qui présenteront leurs travaux et l’état le plus récent des recherches consacrées à la thématique envisagée.
La huitième Académie hiératique sera consacrée aux diverses marques, annotations et illustrations qui accompagnent le texte dans les ostraca littéraires de Deir el-Médina. Régulièrement négligés dans les publications parce que jugés secondaires ou anodins, ces éléments livrent des informations concrètes sur la production et l’utilisation des manuscrits anciens.

Les candidats seront hébergés sur place à l’Ifao sur le budget de l’académie. Leur transport devra être pris en charge par leurs écoles doctorales.

From September 29th to October 3rd, 2024, the 8th Hieratic Academy will be held at the French institute of oriental archeology.
The event offers young researchers who wish to learn about the techniques of editing hieratic texts the unique opportunity to work on unpublished material from the collection of literary ostraca at the IFAO, under the supervision of Annie Gasse and Nathalie Sojic, and accompanied by two specialists who will present their work and the latest state of the art in the field.
This session will be devoted to the various marks, annotations and illustrations that accompany the text in the literary ostraca from Deir el-Medina. Regularly overlooked in publications as secondary or insignificant, these elements provide concrete information on the production and use of ancient manuscripts.

Candidates will be accommodated on site at the Ifao on the academy’s budget. Their travel expenses are to be covered by their doctoral school.
